I can help you with

Where and when?

I work therapeutically with adults in Central Wellington.

My work is primarily long term, (2 years +).

Our first three sessions are to establish whether or not we are the right fit.

I also provide some short term therapy.

I provide clinical and workplace supervision.

Hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Duration and Cost

Sessions are weekly for 50 minutes.

Rates from 2025

Therapy $130

Supervision $150.

Experience

One of my strengths is working with a very wide range of people, including those marginalised by society. I have worked with very young deaf children, as a Crisis Counsellor and with people in South Pacific and Asian countries.

I have been a Registered Psychologist since 1993, and a Registered Psychotherapist since 2014.

Credentials

Therapy

I use the Conversational Model of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy because it restores a sense of personal identity and wellbeing. It is one of the best validated of all currently employed psychotherapies and a very strong evidence base supports its effectiveness, see Research.

Supervision

I have two supervisors — a Psychotherapist (weekly) and a Clinical Psychologist (fortnightly).

Access Lower Cost Therapy

When Psychotherapists train, they seek clients for training purposes. The expectation is that this is long term therapy (3+ years). There is very close supervision. For the duration of the training the fee rate is reduced.

There are some trainees who are in the process of seeking clients for training. They are looking for clients who live in Wellington.

You might be new to therapy, you might want to feel and be differently in the world, yet it’s been hard to get help. Please get in touch, with the heading, Client for Training Purposes.

Note

I do not offer emergency/acute assistance. If you are in urgent need of assistance in the greater Wellington region, Te Haika is the mental health triage service. Te Haika is available 24 hours a day to assist people to connect with the Crisis Resolution Service, or to assist with a referral to a local, government-funded, mental health or addiction service. Te Haika can be contacted on 0800 745 477, or via the Wellington Hospital Switchboard.
